Coulter & Justus Financial Services, LLC is an independent, fee-based wealth management firm serving the greater Knoxville and Oak Ridge communities. Coulter & Justus Financial Services, LLC is comprised of a talented team of professionals in financial planning and asset management, who work together to provide an unsurpassed level of service to every client.

The firm was originally founded by Larry Beeman in 1982 under the name of Investment Planning Services. Larry founded the firm after recognizing the growing challenge that many of his friends were facing with regard to planning and investing for retirement. At a time when commissions were the major form of compensation for financial planners and advisors, Investment Planning Services was one of the first investment firms in the area that moved to a fee-based compensation model, acting on the principle of putting client interests first.

In 2005, Investment Planning Services merged with Coulter & Justus Financial Services, LLC, an affiliate of Coulter & Justus, PC, a well established accounting firm in Knoxville, Tennessee. The success of our firm is largely attributable to the loyalty and trust we have established with our clients and the referrals that they have generously given to their associates, friends, and family regarding the experience and the results they have seen in working with us.

In 2008, we began offering comprehensive wealth management services through our Signature Group Services. These services are available for both individual and business clients with complex financial issues to be addressed.

Our Mission

Our mission is to help clients prepare for and have a good retirement experience. Using a unique planning process and a disciplined investment strategy, we help remove the complexity and challenges that are associated in planning for and living in retirement. With regard to asset management, our mission is to be a trustworthy steward of our client’s assets, as we conservatively and prudently allocate their capital. Our focus is simply to give you objective, experienced advice that puts your interests first.
